Why not have it 'both ways?'

The common definition of 'decorative' is "serving an esthetic rather than a useful purpose." We refute that. Our definition is more nearly "to fit in the design scheme of its surroundings." In order to be other than an extravagance (not that there's anything wrong with that), in our view, a fine decorative piece must have both utility and that hard-to-define aspect of sumptuousness.

What fills the bill for royal giving suits just fine as a benchmark for today's production oriented society. Eschewing the ordinary and turning one's back on the questionable taste of this or that fad, few man-made items make the cut. Fine, hand-crafted crystal is among them. It easily makes the short-list of thoughtful giving.

Why not for yourself?

Why, indeed? How often in life is it possible to award oneself with a small-luxury that doesn't take the big-ticket aspect of a Mercedes or Rolex?

Nothing in the world wrong with loving yourself enough to indulge.
